14. "Strengthening Families in Mtskheta-Mtianeti
Region"
The goal of this 10-month project is to prevent the separation of vulnerable children from their families.
The project is implemented within the framework of the program “Cooperation for Strengthening the Family of Georgia.” The program is financed by the EU and the Austrian Development Cooperation Agency. Project “Social Workers for Social Change in Eastern European Countries (SWIC).” The project is implemented by the Association of Social Workers of Georgia in partnership with four partners: HWA, Armenia Social Workers Association (AASW), Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union (ASWPU), and the Association of Nurses of the Republic of Moldova.
Project objectives:
- Conduct a detailed study of the problems in the region and identify existing shortcomings;
- Promote/strengthen cooperation between Mtskheta-Mtianeti Social Service Regional Center of Social Service Agency and Local Authorities and Civil Society Organizations;
- Strengthen social work in the region through trainings for social workers, general education institutions, municipality employees (government representatives in administrative units, health and social service staff members, council members), caregivers and primary carers of pre-school institutions; Develop the skills and capacities necessary for the retraining and strengthening of healthcare personnel;
- Introduce and raise awareness of local communities on fundamental rights, care, and governmental programs and services;
- Initiate family-oriented programs, elaborate recommendations, and conduct lobbying. 2017-2018

- Developed a training module for a 3-day training course. Reader, pre and post-tests and certification exam issues; About 320 social workers across Georgia were retrained.

11. the Second Opportunity for Education for Children Beyond
Education Process in Georgia “Winner of Tender, Ministry of
Education and Science of Georgia, 2015-2016.
- So-called Providing education for children living and
working on the streets, implementing a transit program. Within the
framework of the program, up to 25 children in child care centers
in Tbilisi provided educational lessons, in particular,
beneficiaries were trained in two areas: promoting life skills
development and providing school education in accordance with
relevant age programs; (2015)
- Strengthening schools with teacher training and parent
awareness In the framework of the program for the situation of
children living and working in the streets - a special training
module was developed within the program, training for 50 public
school teachers and administrators. Information leaflets were
prepared for parents of students in selected schools and
disseminated during the meeting. (2015-2016)
10. Erudition Course - Winner of the Tender, Ministry of Sport
and Youth Affairs of Georgia, 2016
- Within the framework of the program, a 12-hour training
module was developed, a pre- and post-test, a reading material
designed to discuss both literary works and biographies of
celebrities as well as the cognitive part of geography. According
to the mentioned module our trainers retrained and provided service
to 5 family-type children (Mtskheta and Gori, Tbilisi).
9. "Invisible Children" - The project documentary film
"Diaries of My Life" about the lives of children living and working
on the street. In parallel, a 12-month information campaign aimed
at protecting children's well-being and rights was held. The main
goal of advocacy was to change public attitudes and raise public
awareness of existing state programs. Within the framework of the
project, an information leaflet (5000 copies) was prepared and
distributed throughout Georgia. The film screenings and discussions
were held with the participation of invited experts, teachers,
parents of vulnerable children and students. These meetings were
held in four cities of Georgia (Tbilisi, Rustavi, Kutaisi and
Batumi);
In the course of six months, 24 Chocolates were broadcast live
- so called On the problems of children living and working on the
streets, in strengthening childcare services and systems, and in
informing the public. The so-called project is called The children
on the street made audio recordings of their messages. Donor

8. “I am a Citizen” - The project aimed at improving the legal
status of children living and working on the streets, child care
systems and services with the involvement of the state and the
non-governmental sector. As a result of the study and analysis of
specific cases, recommendations have been developed for the
relevant state agencies (see Annex N2), with stakeholder
roundtables.
An advocacy campaign was launched to simplify the process of
citizenship. The project involved 25 so called Children living and
working in the streets, informal meetings, photography lessons, and
exhibitions of their work were organized in the upper hall of Metro

7. Together for a Better Future - the project aimed to provide
informal education to children in state care. 30 so called Children
living and working in the street attended training sessions to
support social adaptation and development within the program. The
following module was developed: Healthy Lifestyle, Children's
Rights, Communication Skills, Basic Computer Skills. Donor

6. “Empowering Girls” - The project aimed to promote 20
so-called non-formal education Integration of girls living and
working in the streets. Within the project, the organization has
prepared a special educational program in the following areas:
teamwork, leadership, personal skills development, healthy
lifestyle and protection of children's rights. Four
cultural-educational events (sports competitions and theater
performances) were planned within the program. Donor Organization -

5. Erudition Course - Within the project, a 12-hour training
module was developed, a pre- and post-test, a reading material
designed to discuss both literary works and biographies of
celebrities as well as cognitive geography. With the above module
our trainers provided training and services to 5 family homes in
Tbilisi and Gori (64 participants in total). Winner of the Tender,
Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia, 2016.
4. Youth in the service of civil society - Within the
framework of the project youth in three regions of Georgia
(Kakheti, Shida Kartli and Samegrelo) were empowered and their
social competences increased. Training module: effective
communication and presentation, project design and management,
donor recruitment, advocacy campaign planning. Open Society Georgia

3. Civic Activism - 135 young people were selected in 2
regions of Georgia (Shida Kartli and Samegrelo) within the project.
The participants were gradually trained on the following topics:
facilitation-moderation, effective communication-presentation,

2. Role of Information Technologies in Peacebuilding - The
project aimed to introduce information and communication
technologies to vulnerable groups of children (school children) in
the occupied region of Georgia and thus increase their role in
peacebuilding and conflict resolution.
The project identified problems of young people living in the conflict region, provided trainings on the following topics: Role of Information Technology, Project Management and Planning, Preparation of Presentation.

informal education to children in state care. The service was

living and working on the streets in order to promote social
