On September 28 the second program of “Family, Child and Government” was broadcast on Online Radio “My Voice”. The program was dedicated to social rehabilitation and child care program.
The guest of the program was Mari Tsereteli, Head of the Department of Care and Social Policy from the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs. Together with the journalist Tinatin Mosiashvili she spoke about issues such as: What should be done with the families in crisis? What does foster care mean? With whom to address when a family has a person with disabilities? As well as about the governmental program for child care.
“Thank you for being invited to the radio interview. It is very important for people to know what the government services are doing, what programs exist. The main job of our department is custody-care. We are focused on issues about abandoned children, persons with disabilities, elderly, war veterans and other specific groups who need special support. Every year the government approves the budget for our work programs. Sometimes the budget is not enough, because the number of queries is increased from year to year,” says Mari Tsereteli.
According to her, the main function of the state is children.
“In families, we aim to strengthen families to ensure that children have a decent future. That's why most of the programs are preventive.”
